These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Ingredio ("the App"), developed by Yingying Zhu ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
Ingredio uses optical character recognition (OCR) and automated processing to read visible food-package ingredient text. It can structure the text, provide plain-language ingredient references, and show matches against a watchlist selected by the user.
Ingredio is an informational ingredient-reading tool, not a medical device or professional adviser. A highlighted item means only that visible label text matched a keyword in the user's watchlist. It is not a determination that food is safe, healthy, allergen-free, or suitable for any person.
We do not guarantee that any result is complete, current, or error-free. Packaging, formulations, databases, network services, and reference sources may change or be unavailable. You remain responsible for checking the original product label and deciding whether to use or purchase a product.
Some features require Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device and account credentials. You may delete your account from Settings. Account deletion and retention are described in the Privacy Policy.
Free Tier: The App may provide a limited daily scan allowance and limited access to other features. Limits may change in a future version.
Ingredio Pro: Paid features are offered through auto-renewing subscriptions shown on the App Store purchase sheet. Current prices, billing periods, included features, and any introductory offer are displayed before purchase and control over any summary in these Terms.
Renewal and Cancellation: Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled according to Apple's terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.
You agree not to:
The App depends on services such as Apple, Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, and Open Food Facts. Their availability, content, and terms are outside our control. Third-party names and reference data remain the property of their respective owners.
The App and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Yingying Zhu or the applicable licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the App in accordance with the App Store terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, protect users or the service, comply with law, or discontinue the service. Rights that must survive termination, including payment obligations and liability limitations, will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms as the App or applicable requirements change. We will post revised Terms with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply. Your use of the App is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms.
